Comar Climate Active Facade

Aesthetic thermally efficient façades and Brise Soleil act as a membrane, optimising solar gain in the Winter and minimising glare in the Summer. This maintains a constant internal environment and meets the design challenges from the most creative façade architect. The Climate Active Façade is divided into three integrated elements:

From simple aluminium windows, with projected Brise Soleil to complex automated aero-foils hung from the curtain wall that "follow the path of the sun", Comar Climate Active Façade delivers facades with function.

Why Brise Soleil?  Comar Climate Active Facade

• Brise soleil provides passive solar shading that does not cost energy as opposed to air conditioning.
• Is a healthy and natural way of internal climate control.
• The internal/outside view is unaffected as opposed to screens or venetian blinds.
• Is completely self contained and 100% maintenance free as opposed to all other systems or provisions.
• Positively meet the requirement of Document L2.
• Sustainable and does not impact on the environment - made from aluminium, the only material that can be recycled again and again. Over 75% of aluminium used in construction is from recycled sources.

Comar Brise Soleil Systems

Comar-DUCOSUN C

• Used for dwellings up to 5 floors and for moderate glazing areas.
• Mounted horizontally above the glazing area, typical projects are 1000mm to 1500mm.
• Vertical and blade pitch should be adjusted to compromise between shading efficiency and light entry.
• May require a brace strut.
• Ideal for South facing facades.
• Inexpensive as compared to aerofoil options.
• Also used for smaller curtain walling projects.
• The system is available in four basic forms:
  • Underslung
  • Overslung
  • Inframe
  • Vertical
• Unique internal and external corner bracketry to ensure continuous appearance.

Comar-DUCOSUN F

• Comar-DUCOSUN F ensures a good balance between sun control and light entry without changing the colour of the incident light.  Prevents glare and considerably reduces solar heat gain, thus ensuring a comfortable indoor climate.
• Moveable aerofoil blades from 100mm to 400mm.
• Fixed horizontal or vertical fixing.
• Blades are assembled on-site; the pitch of the blades can be set at 5 degree increments.
• The elliptical shape of the blades combines shade and large spans are achievable providing aesthetic appeal.
• Available in all RAL colours.

• Actuators fixed to specialised software which can follow the path of the sun, which can be over-riden for cloudy days.
