This project was completed in February 2003 and was a refurbishment of a typical 1960’s timber panelled façade. On such projects a close match to the original building is a priority. Comar 2, the cost effective alternative to curtain walling, offers an excellent solution. Two mullion widths are available: 35mm and 45mm with high span options that ensure that single and multi-storey options can be completed with the same slim sight lines.
Comar 5 top hung windows integrated directly into the Comar framing at ground floor level and 1st storey. Main entrance double swing doors were fabricated from the Comar 7 range and, for safety, incorporated anti-finger traps.
To create the contrasting fern green and white colours of the school, Comar 2 with it’s large selection of bead options provides the ability to glaze both glass and panels into the same façade.
Glazing options are up to 70mm which means that, internally, there is no need to step-cut the panels. Comar supplied the aluminium profiles in white polyester powder coating.
