Back to Project Selection

Comar Architectural Aluminium Systems supplied doors, windows and curtain walling profiles for Foundry House - a newly built modern looking office block in the heart of Maldon's business community. Anglia Fixing, a Comar approved fabricator, was involved in the project from the outset and worked with Baldwin Design Architects on the drawings.

The imposing atrium of the main façade is achieved with Comar 6 curtain walling, polyester powder coated in green. The slim 50mm sight lines allow curtain wall to cascade over the two floors from the eaves of the roof to the balcony above the entrance. The facetted feature of the curtain wall follows the protruding curve of the shallow balcony, thus bringing elegance to an already attractive atrium. Comar 6 is also used on the rest of the balconies and incorporates side hung Comar 5P.i windows for the opening vents. The polyamide insulated Comar 5P.i has a dual colour option and matches the green of Comar 6 on the outside and the inside. 24mm toughened glass, soft coated in anti-sun grey, is used throughout the envelope.

Comar 7 swing doors are integrated into Comar 6 to provide entrance and balcony doors. The successfully completed project can be attributed to Comar's systems inherent integration: the minimalist sight lines are kept throughout the façade, providing an aesthetic contemporary look to the building.
